Ever experienced one of Canada’s wonderful winter festivals?

Here’s a beautiful timelapse of Winterlude in Ottawa, captured by Wilson Lam (@1MaginAZN). It runs for 3 weeks from the beginning of Feb.

Winter Explorations is a small new edit on my site that is in essence about spending time in the snow with friends. I’ve been bringing along my 35mm camera and black and white film all winter long. It’ll get updated throughout the season.

This is along Duffey Lake Road early in the morning. Snow stability was a little suspect so everyone was wiping down the fog on the windows from steaming coffees and looking for crowns and slides up top while driving

This photo was sent to us by @scottkrebs from Lake Louise, Alberta. It was taken at the Ice Magic Festival – a 36hr competition with twelve teams of internationally recognized professional ice carvers. These teams of two were doing some amazing things with their 4,500lbs of ice. These two guys came all the way from the city of Yakutsk in the Sakha Republic (Russian Federation). Thanks for sharing this great photo with us, Scott!

If you have any great photos of #Canada you would like to share with us, just use the #EXPLORECANADA hashtag and we’ll share our faves!

Thrill-seekers, unite.

16 of the world’s best snowboarders compete in a one-day, big mountain freestyle snowboard competition. Where better for them to meet, than in Canada?
